2025 Season

In the 2025 season of Sixth City, we saw some unprecedented results. Thunder Bay and Sarnia dominated the regular season, marking a turn from the normal HCC dominance we see year after year. The HCC saw a three-way tie for the best record in the conference, but Prince Edward Island eked out the conference title. It was a closely watched race to the final two playoff seed, between all of Newfoundland, Winnipeg, Toronto, Mississauga, and Iqaluit; the Blowers and Wranglers were the two teams that prevailed.

The league also introduced two exhibition formats: Winnipeg and Bikini Bottom paired up in a tag team battle versus New New York and Newfoundland (the HCC duo took the victory comfortably); Prince Edward Island’s hubris led them to a one-vs-everyone matchup against a superteam assembled from the other 13 franchises (PEI lost that game).

In the end, the championship game made history as the first matchup between two teams in the same conference. The Islanders found a way to gain some momentum in the postseason, after four years of failing to do so, but they were stopped just short yet again by the Bikini Bottom Stars. Jacob’s team scorched the playoff field en route to their second championship in franchise history.
