Season Summary
The 2022 regular season acted largely as a continuation of the year before. Vancouver and Choccolocco climbed to the top of their conferences after their 2021 championship appearances. But a pair of underdogs would define the playoff bracket: the Gold Coast Sharks, newly rebranded from their Unsolicited Dak Pics moniker, and the Winnipeg Wranglers, after a tweak in brand from their 2021 Wankers nickname.
The title game between the Sharks and Wranglers became the most unprecedented matchup in league history. Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field during Monday Night Football, leading the real-life NFL to cancel the game outright. With the championship eventually stretched into Week 18 to resolve the missing fantasy scores, Winnipeg ultimately held on to outlast Gold Coast and hoist the Borealis Trophy.
